I was and am a fan of the band. My first ever recorded music was Let It Be on cassette in about 1971. I was 9 years old. Fast forward almost fifty years and I’m playing in a band covering alot of Beatles tunes. One is “I’m So Tired”. I had never heard it before! Turns out it has become one of my favorites to play and listen to. As Lennon later said of it: "One of my favourite tracks. I just like the sound of it, and I sing it well".

I’ve read quite a lot about the Beatles over the years. Saw every film I could including several viewings of Get Back.

Yea, after watching that, and reading The Beatles: All These Years, (gave me a whole new perspective on all of them, can't wait for the second book), I tend to agree. Likely far more complicated in reality, but he sure seemed pushy and controlling in Get Back. But I also think there was a void left by Epstein and Paul tried to take control the only way he knew how, and it seemed to irritate everyone. Lennon almost seemed content to sit and watch it happen, seemed to not care if it all broke up at that point.
But, to understand it even better would be to be the fly on the wall during the year or two prior to Get Back to see how these relationships evolved to where is was at Get Back.

A lot of contributing factors. In Get back it was clear that Harrison was clearly unhappy that his songs were not well received and he was "just" the lead guitarist in a band with two other guitarists.

Keith has bad arthritis in his hands. It’s a wonder that he can play at all with those swollen joints. He must take some sort of medication.

Fantastic show! Great song selections, very well performed!! You could tell Ed loved them, he didn't invite just everyone over to talk after their performances. Even ending the show with "Help!"!! Thanks for sharing.

On the downside, that "simulated stereo" sounds like an old '60s echo/reverb a friend of mine installed on his car radio back then. Very distinctive, but tiresome after a bit.

And I think those were the new Shure “Unidyne” mics, kind of a step up from the old EV studio standards. I still have one of each, LOL!

Ed Sullivan mics are reported to be AKG. It makes sense, George Martin was with them and AKG mics were used at Abbey Road.

I’ve seen them using what looked like an AKG D24B.

I just found out this Beatles appearance on Ed Sullivan's show, if not the whole episode, was taped in mid-August 1965 and broadcast in mid-September! I had no idea the network was tape delaying Ed's show that early. But, I guess, after some other rock acts 'misbehaved' on live TV that it became a necessity.
