He's having trouble with singing here, and he knows it, too, sadly.
What was really sad was the opening with Paul Simon. I realize he has strong ties to the show, but that was uncomfortable. Sabrina Carpenter was there to cover for him.
On a positive note, in spite of Mileyās overreach on a poignant song choice, when it was handed off to Brittany Howard, it went to a higher level, and apparently Alabama Shakes is doing a comeback tour.
