Probably unrelated to his retirement, but I recently read that Pete Best was paid close to $9,000,000 for the tracks he drummed on after the anthology recordings were released.

I’ve heard the Tony Sheridan stuff, have some of it myself, and an instrumental by the Pete Best Band.
