The Smithereens did a couple Beatles tribute albums that are also really good. What is cool is that they nail the songs but you know it's The Smithereens.

I very much like their faithfulness to the original arrangements with such great musicianship. Alas, the original raw youthful energy is lacking, but understandably so. My own recordings of Beatles songs are even more pale in comparison. Yet all such tributes can only fall short of that magical confluence of talents we so revere. But, if it points others toward the originals, then it's a worthy effort.

Ah! But cool is in the eye of the beholder. How cool is is that "museum" of guitars, basses, drums and even a collarless Pierre Cardin Beatles suit where Jackson is sitting?
How about the new Fender PA they got with their new amps? Yeah, I tell ya, it never got any respect.
Not to mention all the now-vintage recording gear! And the candid clowning with the now dearly departed (RIP Mal Evans, et. al.).

No, there's a whole lot more than just 10 cool things in this sneak peek, and I've just scratched the surface. The completed film is sure to be a Beatlemaniac's dream! How could it not?
