Rest in peace.

Of course John didn't think Yoko broke up The Beatles. But, did he, possibly, blame George for his increasingly prolific songwriting? I've been hearing Lennon quoting this on The Beatles Channel of Sirius XM a lot lately and it kinda sounds that way.

"In the old days Paul and I wrote most of the songs because George wasn’t prolific," he recalled. "We encouraged him to an extent. Subconsciously we would have just made sure we got the LP for ourselves. Now there’s three of us all trying to squash ourselves onto 14 tracks. Do we make a double album every time? That’s why I broke out with the Plastic Ono Band."

I think that’s what they call a rationalization when you’re sitting on the couch. He went from writing with partners to writing with partners... and I can’t imagine “squeezing Yoko” into 14 tracks, nor would I wish to be present for such an activity.

"If I Needed Someone" is the only George Harrison-penned song to be played live by The Beatles. It appeared in the setlist of their 1966 tour.

We play several George Harrison songs when we perform, but "If I Needed Someone" has always been one of our favorites as it allows us to show off some of the vocal strength of the band. Here's a live performance from 2018:

Bravo! Love how you pedal the one with the chord change. Oh, I suppose we have Paul to thank for that ;). Gorgeous rendition - great mix!

Thanks, @woodyng2! I’m extremely fortunate to be in a band with a bunch of buddies who harmonize very well.

Agree. And the bass sounded great!
You’re too kind, @Splash7. Honestly, not my best performance as the chilly November night when this was recorded contributed to some late notes on my part.
