I don't know about "coming with their guitars", maybe they did. But, I never saw any strap "come with" a guitar back then, except the "folkie" guitars that sometimes came with a string. Sometimes a store owner might "throw in" a cheap basic strap to sweeten the deal.

AFAIK, those "basic straps" were the only thing available back then except, of course, for C&W artists with their names on theirs, and ... ...

As far as I know, in the late 50’s and early 60’s straps were supplied by Hofner, Rickenbacker as well as Fender. I never got one with a Ric but I did with the other two.
The Hofner strap was kind of unique, you wanted one to go with a 500/1.

I’ve read that George used a maroon rickenbacker strap.
Excellent points, beanie. I could never afford such expensive new guitars back then. But, I do remember noticing the strange wrapping of the strap under the Hofner's fretboard back in the early '60s. Was it, perhaps, visible in "A Hard Day's Night", do you recall? I know I saw it somewhere. Such as here, maybe:

At the bridge, there was a metal D ring. McCartney clipped the strap to the D ring. At the neck there was two ways to attach the strap, one with a leather lace at the nut, the other way was wrapping the strap around the body and under the fingerboard. The neck overhangs over the body, there’s a space there.
The D ring is in photo2. The lace ties the strap in a loop as in photo4.

I have my Contemporary 500/1 straped like that. Even removed the strapbutton from the heel

Yes, I believe The Beatles helped create Heavy Metal. But, I never thought about John popularizing the "Horns" hand sign associated with that musical genre.. And on the Yellow Submarine album, of all places?!? See what ypu think:
