So another gig report, this one for the best gig I'll play all year. Alligator is a big Grateful Dead cover band, with two drummers and everything, and we're playing a nice theater, with a capacity of 800, on Jerry Garcia's birthday.
No opener, we're doing two big sets, the first split between an acoustic and elecric half. For us "acoustic" means the guitarists play acoustics and we have the great pedal steel of Jeff Saine sitting in. 4:30 load in, 5:30 sound check, doors at 7:30, music from 8:30 to midnight or a bit after.
Here is what I saw when I first walked in around 4: the nucleus of the great sound crew at The Jefferson, Warren (left) and Rob (right). Looking across the stage toward FOH.

The static lighting tree and a side-view of most of the house left (stage right) line array. The sound is killer in The Jefferson, I've seen many great shows here and it's always a thrill and honor to get to play such a nice stage.

Corky, one of our drummers. The drummers were on point all night, it really made everything easy for the rest of us, since we could just stop playing and the two of them would keep everybody grooving.
