Well, maybe you're right...two SVT's for an experimental rig may not be the way to go. It'd be close to $5000 new by the time you're done. But no way that Acoustic will do for you what the SVT rig will. It's a good intermediate 810 rig and it will have enough power for most anything you'd want to do. But accept no substitutes for the mighty SVT!
I'm going to GC to try them all out.
The Ampeg SVT VR with the 8X10 and possibly a 4X10 and 1X15
and the Acoustic B600H with a 4x10 and 1x15.
I'll let you know what I think.
Yes the Acoustic rig won't be like the Ampeg but it will be lighter on the back and wallet. Like $4,000.00 cheaper.
And, would the audience really know the difference anyway? They just want a good performance, and two bass signals DI'd out the backs of the amps won't be the sound of the amps anyway. That is the sound engineer's job to make it sound sweet.
We'll see. I'm just in the planning stage anyway.
