Alternative Power Supply for Phil Jones Double Four

Hi Gang,

Has anyone found an alternative external power supply for the Phil Jones Double Four? I would like one that has a true (3-prong) ground. I practice in an area with dirty power. I went to my local Radio Shack, but the store has been closed. :(

Thanks.

The power supply for the Double Four is the same as a laptop. It converts AC to 19V DC. Your power may be dirty but changing the supply to one with a ground wouldn't necessarily "clean" up dirty power. I'd suspect even if your power was "dirty" the purpose of the power supply is to convert the AC power to low voltage DC, this process typically has to "clean" the power to perform it's job.

What are the symptoms your getting that makes you think your supply is not doing it's job and needs replacement with a better one?

I just don't like bricks, but concept it handy if you can plug in a battery.
Some bricks take three prong input but still only have two wires that carry through to power the gear.
The other two prongs are polarized.
Proper grounding, star grounds in the gear is going to matter more.
If a manufacturer doesn't believe it, then it's so easy to record a clip and mail it to them. Given enough prodding you'd think they'd fix it.

It took a while, but I eventually got a 3-prong brick for my Double Four and it indeed solved my noise problem.

I also bought that one and I'm lost. The instructions are badly translated and suck. Note of the connectors seem to fit right.

I am in Scotland. I bought a Double 4 which came with a 2pin power supply, lots of the ticky hum that disappears as you touch strings, but gets complaints when you stop touching. Our UK 240v ayatem is always earth oriented...
Eventually the UK agent gave me a 3pin system...ABSOLUTE INATANT END OF PROBLEM...!
