Alternative to Analogman Chorus

Alright, i went through many chorus pedals and settled on the clear winner (imo) which is the analogman mini with fixed deep. I like to have the "best" of each effect that i use. I use chorus on maybe one or two songs out of 40-50 a night. I kind of feel like its overkill in terms of having a $200 pedal thats used so little.

I know chorus is discussed a lot here, but i'm specifically looking for opinions from people who have used the analogman chorus and have liked other chorus pedals as much or better than it.

I'm in the same boat as you in that I don't use Chorus often, but when I do I want it to sound good...

I'm saving my pennies for the Analogman dual chorus, because I just dig the whole faux leslie thing you can do with it... And it sounds great to begin with. New they are zany - $300+ that I just can't justify right now... So I make do with my boss CEB3 (which sounds like mud to me).

I'm intrigued by the new TC chorus, but it's going to be around $150 - so where's the savings?

I think that we are suffering from the current popularity of the analogman choruses in general... Damn them!

I think the theory is that it's a similar circuit but with better components & some improvements in design.

What I know about the Analogman is that I have heard it, played it, dig it. The next pedal I'd take (that I've played) is the MXR Stereo chorus....

There are countless choices for chorus and quite a few that I consider really good on bass. It really depends on whether you want watery or icy sounds (I know - the goofiness of describing tone in words, but how else do you say it?), subtle or extreme.

Personally I dig detune much more than traditional chorus for my purposes so a Boss PS-3 was long my favorite chorus. Also dug the George Dennis, the Maxon CS-9 and Danelectro Cool Cat.

But honestly, if you dig what the Analogman does, no other pedal does it better. Fantastic bass chorus. Really deserving of its reputation IMO.

And if you already own the Analogman it doesn't make a lot of sense to me to sell it for a slight loss and then turn around and buy something that would likely be (1) not as good and (2) bigger than the Analogman mini just so you didn't have such an expensive pedal on your board.

In short, no - I don't see another cheaper chorus pedal that's good enough to sell your Analogman to get.

There are a few alternatives to the analogman chorus pedal. the electro-harmonix small clone is one of them(even though the analogman chorus is modeled after the electro-harmonix small clone). there's also the electro-harmonix clone theory chorus pedal, the mxr stereo chorus, the mxr micro chorus, the danelectro chorus pedals(which is my personal recommendation for affordable chorus pedals), and the digitech hardwire stereo chorus pedal.

Yes indeed go for the sheet metal, still compact enough.
200 bucks for a chorus!.... no
Found a small clone for 40 bucks.
No need for a million knobs...so you can just set them to the same place anyways.
Small clone operation= set rate ...push button

See your point. The AnalogMan Mini has believe it or not TWICE the number of knobs as the Small Clone...yes...2 whole knobs!!!!

That said, hear you on the price.....The AM (with Deep Setting) - and run at 18v IMHO - sounds so damn good with a bass though.....
