Alternative to Finger Ease ?

I would think talcom powder and baby powder are similar.
I've seen the left hand use only.
Pool players use it too.

So, do you just dust both hands with it lightly ? Does it leave gunk on the neck ? Any particular kind or brand ?

Both hands and I don't spare it. It WILL leave a powder on the neck which I leave there until the end of the gig. Dusts off with a dry rag after that. Never had it gunk up in any way. Any brand , just make sure it's cornstarch baby powder and not talc. Talc will gunk up some if you really sweat a lot. Still wipes right off but why deal with any gunk at all.

Talc is a finer powder and will get into wood grains. If you have a maple fretboard that's not a problem. More of a problem with rosewood and other open grain woods. While cornstarch stuff can get into grains , it seems to just blow out. I never cared about it getting into the grain , just leave it there. I'm more concerned with sticky hands and it works great for that.

Un-scented talc works for me and I play a lot of outdoor gigs in humid weather. Baby powder will work but I can't stand the perfume smell.
