Aluminum Bass

There's a street musician who plays one at the market in downtown Seatlle. I saw it standing up in the corner of an alley last summer, and took pictures, but it's owner was nowhere in sight. I guess he figured if anyone walked off with it, it was pretty recognizable. I also saw one of the Interlochen ones on e-Bay last year, so it's not out of the question that they could be found. I taught at Camp for two years and heard the lake stories, BTW. True, according to older and wiser Camp alum.

the more i read the more i want to crack on with my project, I am a sheet metal worker of 25 years, and rockabilly for even longer, i just made a skeleton double bass in steel and stainless , and now I have started the full on Aluminium double bass project, if you want to see the progress, I will be posting it on my site just to share with those keen to see it, Link Removed

I was also wondering.

And as long as I'm here, here are a couple of shots of an aluminum DB that someone brought to the Folk Music Festival that I go to every summer.

It's two different days. But he apparently parked it in the same spot both times. Perhaps it's a total coincidence that the place I took both of these pics was just a few feet from the beer line.

If you haven't heard Vince play check out the soundtrack to HBO's TV show Boardwalk Empire. Vince and the Nighthawks won a Grammy for this music. He is a brilliant musician and a real showman. Here are some clips of him playing:
