That T-40 is awesome!

I’ll be very curious about your experience with that bass after you get to live with it for a while. The T-40 is probably my all around favorite bass but the necks can be a little problematic at times, at least in my experience.

I’m also very curious to know the relief measurements that the EGC neck has built in.

I use an Ampeg SVT3 Pro with Ampeg portaflex cabs for clean signal + a Marshall JCM800 (the Kerry King version |m/) with a Fender Supersonic 212 at super-high gain I have tried several overdrives on the bass line but seems like I should really settle with this kind of setup! Works like a charm for my style/songs.

I'll be glad to write my impressions after some weeks of continuous usage!! that's my first experience with an EGC neck AND my first experience with a T-40, so I'm curious X2!

I owned Travis Bean #22 in Koa. Many years ago. I'll admit I bought it cause I was a huge David Torbert fan (Grateful Dead, New Riders).
Pros- Great sound and cut. Sat in a mix perfectly.
Cons- Ungodly heavy. Despite going back to the dealers for many polishings, it broke strings like crazy, The aluminum mixed with my sweat made some otherworldly hand-gunk that I had to wipe off constantly.
All that being said- I wish I still had it. My only pic of it is in my high school yearbook!!

So I finally tried the alu-Peavey!
It sounds great but it's soooooo much different from the Kramer! They are two different beasts entirely... The Kramer goes on the lowest boomy lows whereas the Peavey is angrier, growlier and wayyyy more metallic. And SCREAMS like a banshee
I'm not sure I'll be able to spend the Peavey in my songs, or with my current amps setup... I may still try to tweak my equalization to make it fit. Or maybe I'll just wait for its moment to come!

Anyways I was worried about the weight but in the end it's not even as heavy as the Kramer. And it's a lot better balanced. And the EGC neck is slim, which I like. Never liked the Kramer's baseball bat

I had to reconfigure my EQ completely when I made the leap to aluminum.
I definitely dial in way more bass than I do with my other basses to compensate for the scrapey metallic goodness (got the bass knob on my Rusty Box completely dimed! Sounds perfect.)

I think I'll try harder then. I would have preferred to be able to use the Peavey because I play a lot of "guitar-like" parts and on the higher notes it sounds a lot better, aside from the fact it's a lot more comfortable to play...

Thanks a lot for the advice!! I think I have some weeks of EQ tweaking ahead! But even in case I end up using the Kramer for these songs, this bass is definitely a keeper!

For some reason the Kramer sounded better with that switch on (although it's passive It has an INSANELY high output)
I switched it off and the lows exploded, I have no idea how it can even make sense from a scientific point of view, LOL

For about a year I used a Kramer 650B. It had beautiful figured walnut wings and birdseye maple centerblock. It sounded great, had Petillo frets and was very heavy.
