The poll is very poorly worded.

*To Enhance Tone
I don't use pedals for tone, I use them for either reverb or overdrive, which I don't consider "tone" (a sloppy and inaccurate word which I prefer to avoid using).

*For More Obvious Effects
This is misleading because "MORE obvious effects" clearly implies that effects are already in use. (Comparable to the question "Have you stopped beating your wife?") You can't have MORE obvious effects unless you are already using effects, and then make them more obvious. I use no effects unless I want a specific one, and then I use it briefly and only for a selected effect - not for a "more obvious" effect.

*I Consistently Do All Of The Above
I don't do either of the above, so this is not a meaningful option.

I use pedals seldom and usually for only one number, then I turn them off.

flabass is no fun :(

i played clean through my bands songs in the past. we just found a drummer, so now i can use my pedals. none of them will always be on, unless it's on throughout a whole song. the way i use my pedals are very specific, like most. octave for solos, and not. fuzz for roughness, and not. i wanna get a chorus, wah and flanger. wah for solos and grooves. chorus for intros and building the wall of sound. i don't know what i'll do with the flanger. but i'll find out. flangers sound really cool for solos at low settings. flangers sound cool in general.

I don't use compressor or DI/pre when playing live, so I don't have a pedal that's 100% on all the time. But I use dirt (Xotic Bass BB) about 90% of my set combined with octave, chorus, delay.
I have only 6 pedals on my board (tuner, volume pedal included), but effected tone is must have for me.
Never 100% clean.

to the OP (Angel Switch) :

Sometimes I use pedal;
sometimes to enhance tone...
and sometimes for more obvious effect...
But I don't consistently do all of the above.

How should I enter the poll you make? :)

+1. My signal is always effected. I like it that way. I, OTOH, do have a preamp running at all times as well as a dirt of some sort about 85% of the time. Octave maybe 5%, chorus and flanger about 5 to 10%, delay about 5% of the time, trem maybe 5% and I probably use wah about 10% as well. I have a preamp (B7K) and ssubmarine on all the time. And I use dirt. A lot.

Diamond Compressor and 3Leaf Audio Enabler are always on (the Phat Phuk B is on most of the time as well), and I kick in everything else occasionally (B3K, Nimbus, Octron, TAFM).
