Am I being two-timed?

I'm a regular member in three actively gigging projects and do lots of fill-ins and sit-ins. If someone in any of these asked me "why did you do that gig with so-and-so?" my simple reply (and all that I would proffer) would be "because no one else had me booked for that date".

There's alot of possibilities and reasons for what's going on. One of those are probably true, and the rest is just speculation. The nature of the business is that people come and go, and there's not much you can do about it. If you dwell on these things, you will go crazy, so it's best to just let things go. Otherwise, you may jump to some wrong conclusions and make things worse than they need to be.

It's quite possible Bob came to the audition expressly to find himself a singer. You other two might have been the best in town and still left behind.

Bob gets gigs.

If you get gigs you can get the singer to sing them. Or another singer might get you gigs.

I mean...this is jazz right? Everyone plays with everyone, that's how the scene goes. If I were friends with the singer I'd be glad they got another gig, especially if it pays.

bdplaid, I think you are stating sort of what I said, but differently, and maybe overthinking it; very intense, at any rate, but yeah. BUTT ANYWAY,

Is four-timing similar to foreplay, and if so, how does that work for the OP?

At this point, the singer is working, for $$, apparently, and the OP is still in the figurative garage. I'm with pcake on this point, and as usual, Jive1 hits it squarely on the noggin.

OP, how old are you guys (or did I miss that somewhere in here?)?
