Am I crazy?

I recently started looking at Electric guitars and am planning on getting one. I know some of you who play both but what i am thinking of is stopping bass playing and starting guitar. I am doing this because for some reason my interests in playing bass have dwindled and I feel like i want to try something new.
Has anyone here had a similar experience maybe like going from guitar to bass or the way im going?

There's nothing wrong with being capable and cross-trained in more than one instrument, or for that matter finding satisfaction in the music that they make.

it's not wrong to be interested in something additional or to have interests change.

My recommendation is to not give up your bass gear though.

I do the same from time to time.

I play both to a certain degree, but can get bored with bass and mainly play guitar for ages, and then get bored with guitar and mainly play bass.

Dare say bass is always there to some extent tho, but playing in a punk band, don't need to do much in the way of self practice to maintain my abilities for that

um i play guitar and bass, umm but dont give up bass take a few guitar lessons (if need be) and then just apply your bass theory to guitar. thats what id do its like easy and i like to think im pretty good for 3 weeks on guitar

I have basic skills on the bass and am fairly proficient on the piano but I've always wished I could play the trumpet. I really like the sound of the trumpet in a jazz context and it would be really cool to be able to go to gigs carrying in one hand everything I need, instead of lugging around a huge bass amp or heavy 88-key keyboard and a keyboard amp.
