Ibanez definitely has someone using a high quality DSLR to take those pictures. Doesnt matter how great your point and shoot is, a DSLR will blow it out of the water in clarity and color (if youve got the white balance set right. This picture is ancient, cameras are much better now.
I changed rooms while taking pictures of my old bass and had to reset the white balance because of the yellow of the lights. THe first one would be acceptable if you didnt see the second one:
The second one is still not 100% accurate. The neck color was much lighter in normal light. So when buying online you have to worry about the camera and photographer.
Schecter uses Bubinga and flamed maple(?) (depending on which 6er you bought). Both are pretty cookie cutter tops (as in any variation in the tops would make it a different type of that wood.) Every Custom 4/5/6 ive seen have all looked the same because thats what makes it that wood. The Ibby on the other hand has an Ovangkol top

The discrepancy is in the wood not Ibanez. The woods Schecter use are more consistent, but Ibanez uses more exotic wood( no matter how thin it looks! The SR series is really thin anyways). You should be picky if youre going to spend that chunk of money. Thats just why I think though. Feel free to correct me where Im wrong
