sit down with it, and get the two chords going counting off in
quarter notes (to a metronome if you have it). Move from the
starting C to F to C to F and keep going back & forth till you
feel comfortable with the same pattern on different strings. It
should start to sound like a good walking bass line (albeit very
simple). When you think you have it, let me know & I will move
you a long a little further...

BTW, since i am still learning, I cannot take you too far, and
by no means am I a "theory" guy, but I have usually been good
at teaching people the basics of anything I have learned...

I've never seen this DVD, but based on your comments, it is not leading you in the right direction. Learning to play notes from tab without having any understanding of music theory is a dead-end street, and will leave you frustrated and bored.

Get a teacher.
