Dude,

If you have the money to spend that's cool. I didn't even know the Blue Flower and Pink Paisley basses were even available until I walked into a semi local guitar store back in 2002(?) and saw one.

I walked into the store saw it hanging on the wall, and BAM! that was it I had to get it. I talked to the sales guy at the store and he said they were a limited run and that Fender had a Pink Paisley version as well.

The next day I stopped at the local guitar shop in my town. I told my Buddy about the Blue Flower I had bought. I asked him to check and see if the Paisley was still available. It was. I ordered the Pink Paisley right then and there along with a hard shell case.

That is the craziest I have ever been when buying basses. I had two brand new basses within a period of six days.

I had drooled over the pictures of the orginial Blue Flower and Pink Paisley Fender basses in Klaus's book, so when I had the oppurtunity to buy a couple I jumped on it BIG TIME. :)

Even goofier than that I eventually bought a Sting Signature model also. So I have three '54 reissue type basses.

I'm a Japanese Fender junkie to some degree. If I could afford it I would have one of each of the current CIJ basses available in the US - Aerodyne P bass, Marc Miller, '51 Reissue, Jaguar, etc., etc,. etc,. :D

Oh yeah,

I was at a guitar store in Danville, VA a little over a year ago. The owner the store had a new CIJ '54 Blue Flower reissue hanging on the wall. It still had the cellophane under the pickguard and tags on the headstock. The asking price - $1400.00. That is a little high if you ask me.

You did good man. :)

ouch i guess so !
i just saw one on ebay - dude asking 950.

as far as im concerned the best thing about these is that i just cant help but smile and laugh, especially if i look in a mirror while wearing it.
(think james dean or "the fonz" wearing a blue flower bass )
And that was kinda the point.
The "silliness" factor helped renew a childlike sense of enjoyment and wonder.

i kinda want a paisley too,
but im sure the wife would get peeved.
she's ok if i get pickup a vintage j bass though.
go figure.
