Am I overpowering these too much?

Hey guys,
So ive got an ohmage/wattage question. Im looking at buying a new amp and i need to know if ill be ok with this config:

Hartke LE500 head - 500W @ 4ohm
Galien Krueger MBX210 - 200W @ 8ohm
Trace Elliot 1518 - 400W @ 8 ohm

Should I run these in series? parallel? try to find a lower wattage amp? help me out here guys

Got ears?

If the answer is yes, trust them and You'll be fine.

If the answer is no, find a 50 or so W amp.

Without knowing the exact PHBF (Power Handling Before Farting) figure of the said cabs below 80Hz it's safe to assume its 1/10 or so of the published thermal power handling of the voice coil.

IME anyway.

I'd run 'em parallel, but just because it's easier to do.
In series the amp would be happier, and less chance of blowing the cabs up, but still possible.

The 2x10 is probably our weak link, a bass sound the 1518 laps up will be too much for it. Still, with the 2x10 on top you should hear it complaining if it doesn't handle the eq.

I would play the 2x10 by itself to see what it can give you in the lows with volume, then see what that sounds like with the 1518, a very big cab with a big bottom. I doubt it will be stretched. That being the case, that's all you can get out of the pair when you crank it up to where the 2x10 gives out.

Hopefully you don't need to push so hard and you don't run into mucky misphasing.

Possibly the 2x10 is some new thing with better bass than the 1518, then do over with the 1518 being babied for eq.

i'd run them in parallel (4 ohm total load).
i can't tell you how well the two cabs would sound togther since i've never played trhu either one let alone both of them together.

500W shouldn't hurt the speakers at all unless you crank the bass control and master volume all the way up. IMO, you wouldn't be overpowering them with normal use.
