Am I too OCD with my Racks?

So how do you organize your bass racks?

I have all my natural finished basses in one and painted finished basses in the other. Can’t say I am not too obsessed!

Nice basses! I’m fussy in a different way: my basses (I’ve only got two) stay in their cases when not being played because I can’t handle the dust and “fluff” (what is that stuff?!) that builds up on them. Amps and cabs are always covered too when not in use. OCD has many guises I guess!

I actually have covers for all my cabinets and cases for the amp heads. I do have one bass not in the rack, but in a display case on my stairs.

If you were truly OCD, you would have bought racks with neck cradle tubing that goes all the way to the posts. And those wires behind it wouldn't be such a mess.

Order them green, burst, burst, black, black, white and you'll get the two maple fbs together.

With the naturals, put the white pg one back from 4th to 5th, and bring the dark body forward from 2nd to first. Then the pgless light bodies will be together, and the maple fb won't interrupt the dark darker ones.

Think I'd order them by scale length, get all the 34" in one rack, and have the guitar and the SS etc in the other.

@ClassicJazz, no problem I can see. I use a slat wall system for my laminate bass ukes, and I just had a humid control cabinet built for my custom all solid wood tenor ukuleles, two are actually laminate, so if I have any other solids made, I'll move out the laminates. That box in the lower left is another custom tenor uke that I'm waiting to open, letting it acclimate.

When you check the two items in your left front pants pocket every 15 minutes to make sure they are in their proper order before checking your right front pants pocket to make sure your pocket knife is in its correct orientation with your leg, get back to me about OCD.

The great thing about hanging out laundry is that you *have* you think of a new plan every week, forever trying to find the perfect transition of colors, whilst sticking to a neat pattern of shapes.

I'm impressed by the complete absence of a single speck of dust or fingerprint. Very nice stable!

Those are String Swing racks. Very well made. They use material that won’t damage any finish type.

My rack is a K&M. Non-reactive silicone with separators so the instruments don't accidentally knock against each other.

I have no floor space for racks. Out of space totally. Can't lose the room depth by hanging them sideways.
