Do any of you read QST Magazine? There's an article in the April 2023 about representing morse code (CW) with musical notation. Bill K3CDY is the author, but, unfortunately, the article is flawed and the musical notation model wrong. He's intending to reflect standard 1:3 keyer weighting, but his musical notation model is actually representative of 1:5 due to not considering the dot-length gap between elements within a character!

I think we can make it work with all the digital voice modes, connecting into a "room" / reflector.

I had a linked DMR repeater back in IL, but I haven’t been active much in a few years. I’m trying to change that with a new HF rig.

Well, whenever you want to try a digital voice QSO via an FCS reflector from your DMR repeater to my Fusion Openspot - or a direct HF QSO (all bands, SSB, CW or FT8!), just let me know!

I gave up on dstar, at least as far as using it on 2M or whatever. There are no other users in my AO so not much point with the upkeep.

Would mainly do local emergency response.

I always have wanted to. I was an old cb’er back in 70’s & 80’s, degree in electronics, but then you had to know code. I off & on will study the latest test guide. Do some practice tests. Wife would kill me if I started ANOTHER hobby!
I did look at a 10 meter rig recently.

If it’s 10m you’re interested in, that get that test done ASAP. We’re hitting the solar maximum and 10m is already working well. That band should be great throughout 2024.
