It's great to see that side of Iran.

I must admit that when I think of Iran, I usually think of nothing but desert and war.
I know. This is what we see a lot of now. Especially when you consider it’s past history was somewhat different.

That whole region in olden times, especially when it was Persia, was a great empire and Baghdad was a major cultural and financial center.

And as I understand it, Iraq was once Babylonia.

The Tigris and Euphrates rivers area is considered to be the "cradle of civilization."

Yes indeed. There’s a whole series called the Great Courses the we recently checked out from the Sac library. One of them was on the Beginnings of Western Civilization. It really filled in a lot of gaps in my knowledge of that period. So much was going on in that region at the time. Sorry, I’m digressing, but if you’re into history, it’s a good series to view.
