We used to have a huge one in the back garden before the fire (and have a seedling from that tree replanted - it's about 6' right now).
Here's the pros and cons of Jacaranda:
+ Very pretty
+ Provides lovely shade
+ Grows quickly
- Drops the pretty flowers, which turn brown on the ground after a couple of hours, and can stain concrete if wet (like tea).
- Drops the leaves - which, although they resemble fern fronds when on the branch, are individually about 1/4" long X 1/8" wide. And there are lots of them.
Clean up is a B****. Pretty, though.
Many streets in California are lined with them, which is spectacular.

The photo was an image I found in a search as I didn't have one of my own. It's Mexico IIRC.

I have a jacaranda in my front yard, but it's small. Clean up doesn't bother me as I'm in the bush and my drive is gravel, at least for the moment.

Jacaranda can also make some beautiful timber, some looking a bit like ziricote. I have some that I haven't cut yet, but they should be wide enough for the facings on a NT bass with the NT exposed. We'll see.

Antarctic frozen “waves”.

The huge frozen waves first captured in Antarctica were created when ice was compressed and the trapped air bubbles were squeezed out. The blue colour results from melting and re-freezing, which forces out trapped air and allows the blue in the visible light spectrum to pass through while the red is absorbed.

Wanting to build something that combined his mutual lose for both Star Wars and Mad Max, Stephen Wong reconstructed the Doof Warrior’s guitar (from Mad Max: Fury Road) with a Darth Vader twist.

It was scratch-built with some good ol’ fashioned cobbling together of random things that were never meant to be attached together, lol. Among the ingredients was a (new, not used) bedpan for the body, and various automotive bits, including the bumper ends off an Austin Healey, horns off a Studebaker, sparkplugs off a BMW, and a motorcycle gear sprocket. An old electric guitar and bass were given new life as parts for this build (they live, they die, they live again!)

The otherworldly crystals in the Cave of the Crystals in Mexico can reach sizes larger than houses, by far the largest such crystals known on the planet. They apparently grow at incredibly slow rates, gypsum formations that take as long as a million years to reach more than two stories tall. Researchers speculate that microscopic pockets of liquid within these giant crystals might hold microbes.
