Amazing Photos

The Blue Angels are based out of Pensacola Naval Airstation, so it's not unusual to see them doing practice runs out over Pensacola Bay. I was working on the bridge of a ship that arrived in to Pensacola one morning when the Customs officer I boarded with stopped everything he was doing and had some of the crew line up at the floor-to-ceiling windows facing out over the bay. All of a sudden a line of 4 of the Blues came by at only about 250-300ft out, each one doing a barrel roll as they passed the vessel. Coolest damn thing I've ever seen. The mostly UK and Norwegian crew were all as giddy as schoolgirls, too.

^ Yup, i'm pretty sure this photographer was trying to mimic the original bliss photo. The thing I found interesting was this was taken at a completely different location from the original bliss photo. I heard they turned that field into a vineyard or something.

We got a little rain in Houston last night.:beaver:

These pictures were taken about a mile from my house. The water had subsided quite a bit when these pics were taken. During the worst of it the water was about 3 feet from the overpasses which IIRC are 16 to 17 feet high.

It took me three hours to get home last night. Only my herbal tonic kept me from getting bored.
