I don't know about you all, but when I get notifications of posts in this thread, it takes me to the first post I haven't read. It's not hard to tell a blue link from black text, is it? I don't think there's enough deals posted and purchased to warrant two entirely separate threads.

The problem is, when we get a notification of a new posting in this thread, we visit to see the Deal and are disappointed to find that it's not a Deal just a comment.

Also it's customary to respect the OP's wishes which in this case are to post "Deals only".

Regardless... Amazon hasn't been giving out anything like it did about 3 years ago when they went on an epic spell of selling quality basses for hundreds less than used! Ahh the good ole days. I'm still tracking stuff for yall its just a barren dessert lately though. Good luck

OK, not an actual deal so maybe people will yell that it's off topic, but I still believe it belongs here to explain why Amazon deals happen.

I was at Lakland Chicago yesterday and commented that (for a day or so) Amazon had a maple necked USA Lakland at an insane price. Lakland's explanation was that Amazon is constantly monitoring the net to make sure that they have the best price, and if someone/somewhere has marked an item incorrectly, or is blowing them out, the Amazon price will be lowered to match. Once the error is corrected, or the blowout item is sold, then Amazon price goes back up. That explains why what I consider virtually identical instruments will be priced very differently on Amazon (i.e. the maple necked Lakland was a great price, but the rosewood necked twin was at the typical price).

It also explains why if you see a killer price on something at Amazon, you need to move right then - Because Amazon is not intentionally changing the prices to have a sale for X amount of time, it is just a reflection of something they found on the net, and as soon as that trigger goes away, things go back to normal!

I have been shipping my guitars from Texas to Oregon much like EBay does but my last guitar I bought off Amazon was packed poorly with the strings to tight and the neck was warped badly. I tried to get a refund but got the run-around instead. Still in the work's but it's lookin none to good.
