Amazon Deals WITH Discussion Thread

Thanks again to the OP.

I usually go by "you get what you pay for"..
New caveat is -
"Unless Amazon is blowing out inventory"
This is really a good strap and better than some $60 big name brands
Not as heavy and more flexible than Italia and the 3" width feels just right

I wasn't *too* greedy, bought two brown ones. Should have gotten basic black as well. Made in UK, perfect width, very attractive, suede inner lining to prevent neck dive, a little padding, super long! Had to go with the second hole on the skinny end to raise the bass above my, um, nether regions. Hats off to the OP!!

He may be a weiner but

Oh man, I need a little moral support. I totally didn't need this bass, but last night I was looking at amazon, and noticed a Fender roadworn 60's jazz for 650 or so and bookmarked it. This morning I checked it, and it was at 598.00. In a fit of adrenaline fueled (gassed?) dorkdom, I was compelled to hit the buy button. There goes the warmoth build I've been saving for, but a deal's a deal right. It is a deal, isn't it?

You can cancel the order before it ships.

True, but should I? I actually had a crisis last night with my plan to go short-scale, in that I've tried every string available and none of them have worked (like dang it, seriously). I also want a jazz bass. So this may be the right bass for me. These have a rep for being light, so if it is, it might be perfect.

Oh, I just noticed there's another one for 633, fwiw.

On the store card you can pay it over 12 months w no interest, and seems like an easy resell.

$598 is a pretty nice price for a new Roadworn. The only problem is it'll probably have a few scuffs and blemishes on it. :D

Seriously though, they ARE very nice, comfortable basses and sound great. Unless you're not a fan of the road-worn LOOK, I think you'll be very happy with it. Don't stew about it. Just enjoy it...

I kind of like the road worn look, although I'd of course rather have done it myself. I really like nitro (just sold a honeyburst p with nitro). I had a american standard jazz, and I really liked it other than it was heavy. So we'll see. I'm hoping it was returned due to someone not understanding the finish ;-) Everything I've bought from the amazon "warehouse" has been pristine, so far.

Oh man, I LOVE my Honeyburst P.

Nice! I think that was probably the nicest playing bass I've ever had. It worked well for the rockabilly/americana-ish band I play for, but not really for the 80's band. I love the neck, the resonance and the lightness. I didn't want to ship it, so I just about gave it away.

Wish I'd have known. I have a buddy who would've snagged it for a fair price. He loves mine, but I won't sell it to him! (Sorry for the derail. Now back to the "Deals With Discussion" thread...)
