This guitar demo shows the features a bit better. The poly works on guitar chords. Mod can be vibrato in stereo or phase in mono. It can be dry (no mod).

better demo. i’d like to hear how it tracks one big chord, not arpeggios. vibrato sounds better to me than the phaser, but that’s typical for me.

that’s a live pass. no edits to speak of other than trimming front and end.

basically i set up the textures/parts and went for it.

one oscillator (xpo) being modulated to death through a stereo filter into delay

three guitar “parts” played/recorded into arbhar, morphagene and lubadh, and then modulated to death (that’s where the reverse stuff happens)

strega patch recorded into another morphagene, with another patch (it’s the opening drone) then going through the input, and the mixing between those with the wet/dry knob

so five stereo pairs: xpo, guitar/arbhar, guitar/morphagene, guitar/lubadh, strega/morphagene

then into a mixer and play with the faders to get what i want. this is the second pass.

So I broke my rule about freezing the setup. It took about 5 hours but I now have a better setup. Instead of the Bluebox, I'm using AUM as my mixer and I've got a place for my iPad, which is WAY easier to work with. I set up my MOTU 828 mk2 as an additional 8 analog ins over ADAT into my ES-8, which then goes into the iPad. AUM has also gotten to the point where it remembers connections when you unplug them, so I can have a template set.

A friend came a few weeks ago and said that I had the modular and the Performer backwards, so now the Performer is on a stand and the modular is on the table right in front of me. This is in fact much easier.

I think I have a USB hub with enough plugs at my practice space, so I'll be bringing that home to try AUM as a MIDI hub, which looks promising, allowing me to sell two boxes (the Bluebox and the MioXM).

In celebration, I ran Maths into Implexus, and then used ran it through a plate reverb in iOS and the Cosmos. I am manually tweaking maths as a complex LFO, switching outputs at one point, and also manually tweaking Cosmos.

It also means I didn't do any work yesterday, which is a net gain although I'm kind of f****d today. C'est la vie.

Shortly after buying my UBass back in late December I told myself, "no new basses until at least July." I bought the Ibanez Mikro in late January and ordered the Miezo in mid-April... I learned a lot from one and I love the other. I still dig the UBass but it's a different animal.

the sound it ends on? yeah, xpo plus a ton of modulation, into qpas also modulated, into mimeophon also modulated.

part of it is hitting the xpo with sequenced notes (forgot that part earlier) and then having it getting fm'd from one oscillator with different sequenced notes and than being sync'd to another osc getting different sequenced. plus audio modulation of the same oscillators going to different things.

a big kludgey clusterfu¢k.

Yet another track made using the Volca Bass. The video clips for this were shot probably a year ago and the music recorded not too long after, probably Nov or Dec 2021, For some reason I never uploaded it, and I also don't remember the details of what effects and how many overdubs were used. It's possible the delay/reverb was all from the Korg SR-1 recorder's built-in effects, but equally possible I used a Boss DD-7 delay, I just don't remember. I still have the main sequence programmed into my Volca Bass, which is what reminded me to revisit this track.

That's great. Love the inclusion/use of video. The train track vibration knocking the camera around was cool.

ok, the morphagene, lubadh and arbbhar are crazy awesome instruments.
watched a few vids/demos…….the possibilities are absolutely mind boggling

I thought I might lose my camera that time. Later when I watched the raw footage (there's more not shown in the music video) I realized I need to be more careful for my own sake, never mind the camera. There's a part of me that will always be a 12 year old.
