Anyone score tix to the final Skinny Puppy tour?

I got a sneak peak at the guitar rig that will be used on the tour, and even contributed a piece from my personal gear collection :)

I’m hoping they add a Los Angeles tour date so I can go see them without hopping on a plane or going to the Vegas festival date.

probably not going to see them. i think they’re on tour when i’m back east.

odd that they haven’t booked l.a. doesn’t mssr key live here?

i got a pretty steep rake on it cause it was the upgrade price but also on sale. so live 11 suite basically cost what a new version of logic would’ve cost.

worth it? value is in the eye of the beholder. worth it to me cause it was seamless, i didn’t have to learn a whole new system and the new reverbs seem cool. i’m not one to have to learn everything before i use it.

i would say that the warp thing has probably been refined, which means that the way i used it to purposely create glitchy artifacts is not as easy to do.

i’ve used it to do a lot of music over the last year or so, which means it’s very worth it.

Did you loose FX or instruments in the upgrade??
The feature that interested me the most was implementing cycle takes, about 20 years overdue

Yes and no. It’s annoying if it interrupts you—the constant software update cycle is such a hassle from a “flow” standpoint. OTOH, I usually ignore it.

I have Live 11 and I like it. Like with @steubig there’s a lot to be said for working with what you know. I don’t recall losing anything but if there’s something you love, double check that it’s still there.

I talked with an old friend this week who has moved to full hardware. Everything straight to 2-track. She only edits in Live when making techno.

Definitely not going to learn a new daw, way too lazy for that
I’m gonna keep using Live, it is what it is.

Re:recording to 2 track
I’ve done the most recording in the last 5 years on my Tascam portable recorder then editing in Live.

L-R from my mixer to the Tascam, then dump wavs onto the computer.

Last step profit.
