Just got off my lazy butt and tried running my Mackie Mix8 Aux Send into my Empress Reverb. Good gravy. Why did I wait so long to do this? Now all the inputs on the mixer can share in the glory of this reverb pedal?! So good.

On a “real life” analog mixersReverb, delay and such FX are used in the AUX sends for the exact reasons you just mentioned. Plus you can gage the amount of signal sent to the AUX, wet\dry ftw.

I wonder why Monster”patchmaster” T hadn’t done it before.

Reaper is awesome, it's the first one I actually bought, and it was worth every penny. The effects aren't bad, but I have a lot of other ones I use.

I'm kinda newbish in the vst realm. Also note that I have an extremely tight budget....so free or almost free is the shizzle atm.

No way I can fork out the $$$ for the slate bundle....let's put it that way

Oh, various Native Instruments, Eventide, Blue Tubes, Arturia, a ton of VST's like Kontakt... I would just say that there are ways around that $$$ obstacle with those things, but that's between you and your conscience.

Edit: just downloaded trial of reaper. Jeez im old....im so used to ableton im lost.

Edit 2: felt so dumb I went back to my sp404sx to feel less stupid.

Wow, that is an incredible machine. I can easily see myself getting lost having fun for hours on that.

I’m considering a somewhat major purchase later this year. Morg Matriarch is high up on the list. This particular piece is super interesting, but at 2500 Euro I’d need a lot more convincing

I was originally hoping for a desktop version and still wouldn’t mind, but there’s some cool options to playing something in directly. I suck at keyboards, but will say, even with the most basic knowledge of theory, coming up with chords and melodies on a keyboard is super simple and takes very little time

I don’t think it does either. But the modular possibilities are crazy and it sounds so good. Seems like early synth players could go from one ‘patch’ to another very quickly just because they understood their instruments so well. I certainly don’t, but it’s a skill I’m trying to develop

just speaking from my own need to do the same. a little bit goes a long way. some scales and chords. a little hanon. i somehow got some bass in there too.

still not a great keys player, but my familiarity is better.

I often wonder how much the rest of you get to play, everyday, or most days, at least. It seems like a lot of us on here do. I generally get anywhere from 3-5 nights a week in my music cave, 2-4 hours each time, sometimes bass, sometimes synth. Or both.

I generally work on something daily. My job and living situation allows me the time to do that. I don’t always get the balance I want between bass playing and electronic production, but I try to make it all work.
