Ambient/Post-Rock/Textural bass playing thread

Seems completely logical to me. Apply pedals like spices or colors. Used when appropriate, awesome.....when not....puke ta cu lar.
I also simplified my dual rig board and removed some pedals.
On the bass side I only have a dd7 and a vt bass. Simple, easy, very effective.
You know, I have used the FMeron in a few tracks, but sparingly. Going through my youtube and soundcloud stuff nothing jumps out at me that really puts it front and center, except one recent track that uses it as a sort of klaxon alarm sound effect. I think it's buried in amongst other effects in some of my other recordings. I do love the pedal; just haven't really showcased it yet in a recording yet I guess.

Just read many pages in an attempt to catch up with you weirdos. Interesting and fun to read, as always.
post covid life has been a bit of a struggle, but seems to be improving a bit. Managed to write a few short pieces of music for a library commission I got. Seems harder than it needs to be, though. Octatrack got a new OS upgrade for the first time in a very long time. Super cool new tricks and shortcuts. The Octatrack has been a bit much for my mushy brain lately, but I intend to load the update and do some learning. Still my favorite hardware gizmo I’ve ever owned.
Monster goes modular? That’s a long, painful journey, but at least it’s super expensive
I’ve barely touched my eurorack in like 6 months. I still am somewhat fond of it but for whatever reason, my EssenceFM/Octatrack combo makes me so happy I don’t bother with anything else.
Hope you’re all doing well! I’m headed to Kansas City for a gig, which will be the last for the foreseeable future

Post covid has been a challenge indeed. I feel that. Less and less to hold onto as a musician. Even after covid, which is a ways off, we'll be dealing with a destroyed economy, clubs permanently closed, businesses and jobs gone. What that means as musicians is things will be even more challenging than before...and it has already been more and more challenging as it is. It can all make picking up my bass and doing the work feel more and more difficult.

FYI in case you were unaware I believe @dukeorock actually had covid so he means it more literally than some.
BTW I can highly recommend the Sensel Morph. They had a combo deal on Aalto so I got a that as well and it is a very fun combination.
It's just that the society we live in today doesn't value art. Interestingly enough, it's exactly what we need more than ever.
Art doesn’t generate $$ now so......to the back burner it goes.

I check none of those 3 boxes. Always had the « hard road ».
I still remember my 10$ emergency groceries to last 4 days till the next check comes in during university. Awful times. Going hungry for the music, I’ve definitely lived it.
Same...doesn't mean we give up, but makes things more challenging for sure.
Could you give up? I get depressed if I don't play regularly.
