It’s almost hilarious that none of the characters in the film have superhero physiques. None of these guys has consumed an ounce protein powder. Also, not a tough guy tattoo to be seen.

It’s simple. Ambient effects, to Robocop, to Smurf feet, back to Robocop, to protein powder and tattoos. I’ll chart it out.

Always have hated smurfs (no offense UB), refuse to search about their feet.
Never watched Robocop, but my upstairs neighbour back in the day showed me a prop he made for the film, a fancy alloy tube thingy meant to be a bomb. It looked cool, no idea if it's actually in the movie, not having watched it.
PS: Remco's a badass, seen a few of his vids before. When he's slapping though... it gets ... I tune out.

I found it hilarious how all of the thugs and muggers in that basically act like thugs and muggers from 1940's films. And what's with the dude with the high-pitched laugh? Someone actually came up with that.You seem to be describing a douche not a b@da$$ thug.
It somehow feels like I need to go back and rewatch Robocop just to keep up with what's going on here. TB threads never cease to amaze.
In some of the documentaries I’ve been watching, they’ve pointed out how punks were demonized in 80’s films, particularly with the “hardcore” look being common costuming for villains.
The voice characteristics and other mannerisms are interesting to look back at. There’s the famous high pitched “come out to play” from Warriors. Clip added for the sweet synth bit.
I remember watching a doc on the Warriors, and that scene was totally improvised. What a great flick.
The Italian knock off is pure campy garbage awesomeness, as well...it's like all the cheese of The Warriors ramped up to 100.
If that's not craptacular enough, there's always the sequel, which is yet another ripoff. That's a trend in Italian cinema through the ages... find a popular American genre and flog it to death. There were over 500 spaghetti westerns as one example. I've seen about 200 of them, that was enough.
