American deluxe Jazz Bass 5 issue

Hi all hopefully someone can shed some light on this issue . Just got a 2014 Jazz 5 american deluxe and noticed while fretting a g note on e string (3rd fret } the tone got real muddy (like some type of modulation was going on )playing whole notes and not too bad playing quicker 1 /16 notes walking bass lines .Upon investigation I found the problem to be that while holding down the g note the open D string has a slight vibration that was felt on my finger tip and while muting the D string this problem goes away .Any thoughts for a solution ? Thanks in advance

It's a question of technique. You should be muting the strings you are not playing. Unless of course you deliberately want to hear sympathetic vibrations.
