Has any one played a Jazz 24 V I am wondering how different is it from its American counterpart? I am just curious on how it plays and sounds and comparing that to the American.

American Jazz 5 Vs Jazz 24 V (korean)

The only weak point on the Jazz 24 Vs that I've played is the preamp. Its not bad per se, but its kind of bland. The preamp on the American Deluxe Jazz V is MUCH, MUCH better IMO if you are going active. If you are talking the passive American Standard Jazz V, well its not really an apples-to-apples comparison. Its more of an old-school Jazz tone, except with the additional range of the B string. The Am Dlx and the 24 V are both more modern sounding versions of the Jazz due to the pickups and preamps on both basses.
Yeah well if I go with the American Jazz I am really fond of the Passive bass tone. Maybe down the road get a outboard pre to get my active electronics is something I considered for a option of more versatility.
But for example if I were to go with a four string I really like the sound of the Geddy Lee Jazz.
I guess I was trying to convince myself I can save my money by buying the Jazz 24 V. I think I am just going to have to save and invest it in a good American Jazz Standard 5.
