I was looking 'Blues Brothers 2000' again for the $%&*$*th time, and spotted the Sea Foam Green (Lakland?) bass of Willie Weeks (Louisiana Gator Band) in the Battle of the Bands... I want that color!
From an early '90s Fender catalog, there were 9 factory colors available at the time for AVRI JB/PB/Strat '62 (8- prefix), as follows:
It seems that 49 Sea Foam Green for MIA basses was only available during the '60s, and would not be correct for an AVRI JB '62. Am I wrong ?

Early Corona Reissue. Not the lightest but it sounds fantastic. The neck is dated 1988 and seems a bit thinner front to back then some of the newer ones I have owned. The body date is hard to read but might be early 90's. The case is super beat but original and still the has the classic Fullerton case styles.

Here's a crappy pic of me playing my friend's AVRI '75 Jazz. This bass is impeccable. Before, I'd been more of a P guy (Squier Affinity P), but I gotta say, playing this bass (here tuned DGCF) has got me on a MAJOR Jazz kick. I love it!!
Looks just like the one I played last Wednesday and fell in love with. Beautiful!
Here's my 57 reissue in Ocean Turquoise. I have to say, this is the most beautiful bass I own. The color in the photo is not correct. It's more blue green. The guy I purchased this from said it was an 89, but the booklet that comes with it says copyright 1983 Fender is a trademark of CBS INC. It also lists the Fullerton address. And I've often wondered why I'd get a CBS Fullerton booklet with an 89 bass guitar or if the manufacture date might have been earlier like in 82. The fender site is not much use in dating vintage series fenders, so it may always be a mystery to me.

I've always wanted one of these, they're so cool looking. It'd take me a long time to make $2000 to have lying around, so I don't go near them at Sam Ash.
This was my old AV RI 75 Jazz Bass. I got it around 2001 or so, and parted with it a couple of years ago. The pickguard wasn't stock, and neither were the P-Bass control knobs. The case candy was ridiculous, coming with both pickup covers, strap and an old school instrument cable.
It played really well, but I just didn't dig having the bridge pickup set so far back. I'm doomed to love 60's era Jazz basses and not 70's J-basses. Thankfully the Roadworn 60's Jazz bass came to my rescue!
