Amp Advice Please

Ok Ive been thinking of upgrading from my combo amp to a more powerful rig. I think I've picked out a head and cab combination that will do well for my money.

Its a GK BL 600- Link Removed

and a Eden 2x12- Invalid Link Removed
Is this a good choice? I like that its pretty light, I think itll be loud enough, it might be a little outside my budget so cheaper recommendations would be reccomended. The wattage should match up well right? I'm open to any advice.

By the way I play mellow, funky, rock, sometimes acoustic type stuff.

I clicked on your eden link and got hartke instead... is this what you meant?

The best advise is to go to a local dealer and try the stuff. A place like guitar centre or dady's junky music (in the north eastern states) is great for this kinda thing. If you're concerned about weight don't be afraid to unplug the cab and lift it yourself to test it.

Make sure to bring your bass when you try the equipment out and maybe go on an off hour so you can crank the amp if you want.

ok heres my new choices so far I'm thinking a Avatar 2x12 Neo and the Carvin B800. I've read great things about the cab, hows the head? I liked it because it was a nice match plus I'll have the option of adding another cab later to get the 800w. Any advice?

I just received my B800 today. It has good clean tone and plenty of power (ran it through two 4ohm cabs today). At the price it's at you can't go wrong.

This is the route I would personally go if this were the limit of my budget. I recommended this set up to a friend of mine as well. This is what I consider serious bang for the buck.

good luck,

Chad

You are halfway there.

Here would be a nice little setup.

Eden WT800C
Eden D212XLT
Eden D210XST

This would thunder your way through most halls. When you need more...buy two more of the same box setup.

I am using the EDEN Metro and the 210XST. It seriously pounds. It is clear and crisp.

I heard the B800 is being discontinued, how long will I be able to buy one still?

We can't possibly know that. You gotta ask Carvin.

But I would add my voice to the chorus--if you can snag a B800 for the current price of $349, I don't know of a better deal in a new amp head. IMO. I don't have direct experience with the Avatar, but the word of mouth is good, so with that combination you propose, I gotta think it would be a major upgrade over your combo. And as you say, you'd have the option of adding another cab later.

That seems pretty expensive, my budget is well under that.
