Here's a view of my Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 .... I had to open it up to reattach one of the nuts that came off the rear fan .... as a side note, I checked the remainder fan screws and nuts and most were getting loose, I tightened them up and put a drop of clear nail polish on the exposed threads/nuts and when I reattached the cover, I put Nail Polish on the screws, so they wouldn't come loose, seems the cover screws had some kind of Lock-Tite when they were originally installed, as they were very tight, when unscrewing them

Im Looking for HELP...
The power cable of my SVT 2 Non Pro was yanked out on a gig.. It pulled the Cable relief grommet right out of the amp.. and thus pulling one of the clipped on BLACK leads from one of the terminals.
Does anyone have a CLOSE UP view so i can see what terminal it is supposed to go back to??
Here are photos.
I am GUESSING it is the one that i marked #1???

So those IEC plugs are actually useful, eh? And here all this time I thought they were a pain! :)

Anyway, here you go for amp guts...

My new Heritage SVT-CL with a Heyboer output transformer and the new low profile power tube retainers that are soon to be standard but just missed the last batch of HSVTCL's...except mine!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!! I'M RICH!!! RICH BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!!!

Well I would be if I could find someone to pay me for owning a cool amp ;)

A polarity switch on an amp with a 3 wire grounded power cord?

The polarity switch harks back to the days of two wire power cables. it was generally a single pole double throw switch with the common connected to chassis via a, typically, 0.1µF 600V cap. The switch allowed the cap to be connected to either AC rail for the lowest hum level. it's obsolete with a three core cable. I suspect on your amp Jimmy, it's there for historical reasons.

I haven't seen these on any European amps, but I have an 80s (230V European version) Peavey that has a polarity switch that isn't connected to anything. So I suspect you're right. 3-prong cables are standard here for anything with a metal chassis and have been for a long time, socket or not.

It may be obsolete.. But it still works... my SVT2 no pro has a 3 core AC wire... It has the polarity REV switch too... it has 3 positions + - and Middle....

... Just yesterday as i was firing mine up.. i had to put it in the far left position.... The grounding plug works fine . is attached to my properly grounded and working correctly grounded outlet.. Maybe they aren't so obsolete after-all.
