Amp Guts Photos - Official Thread - Lets see those pics

Hello. Those photos are lovely. But they are all external. Where are the guts? Let's see the internals, please.

I thought I was being brave getting to that point.
Not sure how.

There should be screws on the underside of the metal chassis, the box that contains the electronics.

Remove that chassis from the wooden head case, as you did before. Then lay it on its long edge that is the rear of the amp (where the speaker connections are).

Then remove the screws from its bottom plate. Inside will be the circuit (the side if it that's easy to photograph, at least), perpendicular to the table.

Now. .. I had an old 73 Eminar PA head that I used as a bass amp for many years. Great amp. But mine had 6 x EL34's in the power section- & was rated at 150w. (in case ya haven't guessed - I'm far from a tube expert) are those 6L6's in yours? If so
....I'm guessing it's rated at about 100w ?

Hi @rodl2005 , I was told 2x 6L6. Then I got some feedback from a thread on stab that suggested that could be anywhere from 40w - 60w, so for ease I just cut the dirtence and say 50w .
(I got it via Ozbass).

I have only used it at home but gee it sounds nice so no od breakup used, I was a bit concerned about taking it out 'at its age'. But I keep looking in case a small tubester comes up cheap somewhere as I'm in a low volume situation anyway. But I barely run through the Eminar SS or the baby v1 Rumble 15w at home anymore lol.

In my non-expert opinion, it looks more like Marshall than Fender, but most of all like Eminar. The Eminar brand is new to me, so I thank you for the introduction.

Thanks. Interesting my serial number is listed by a previous owner... Serial number 0288 . I haven't found much about Eminar on line when I have had a look around.
The reason I mentioned Marshall was there is a story about Richie Blackmore using and liking (loving?) an Eminar amp.
Also supposedly Mark Evans used a 300w Eminar when he was in AC/DC and I think the bloke from Mental As Anything, size unknown by me. (Edit: and Lobby Lloyd (Axtecs/Coloured Balls/Rose Tattoo) at some stage but powerful i'd wager).

The original case got mislaid over the years but the prev owner knocked up the ply cover you can see. I have bought some stuff to protect and dress it up a tad and was hoping to get that done as a project before taking it out for a run.

Good thing none of those components all around the tubes are heat sensitive, at all. No fear of premature failure from overheated parts, there.
