Amp Guts Photos - Official Thread - Lets see those pics

Next Eminar update. It is home from the Dr having passed it's physical. I'll upload the pics from the usb prob on the weekend depending on what is going on.
Anyway... I quote:
Eminar 100 watt bass amp
All tube circuitry
Solid state rectifier
3x 12AX7 dual triodes
4x 6L6 output tubes

The amp is in good condition and suitable to be taken out for gigs.

The amp has two channels with shared tone controls. The first channel is voiced for bass and the second for guitar. The two inputs for each channel are either high or low sensitivity.

The amp is currently wired for 8ohm.... The output transformer has 16,8 and 4 ohm taps so the amp could be modified with either extra sockets or an impedence selector switch to run different impedence cabs if required.

And a warning:
The top of the output transformer has a tag strip mounted to it which is "live" when the amp is switched on. If you touch it you will receive a nasty, if not lethal, shock. This is a fairly rare setup and most amps do not have this kind of voltage outside of the chassis.
Please be careful if the amp is out of the cabinet at any time.

I hope this means something to someone lol.
BTW this was before he started. He forgot to take a shot with the changes he made.
1. New cap? 2. Removed a spurious power input that was wired in - you will see some black tape in one photo. Now gone, as is the 'floating' small board in my original photos.

Absolute stellar bass preamp! Common problem however...the control knob lights stop working (in pairs) until none work. No effect on preamp performance...just an annoying cosmetic+dark stage issue.

Combing thru the Warwick forum, it seems to be mostly a USA owner problem.

Warwick suggested new LED replacement lights, but my two knob lights that are out, still flicker for a few seconds upon turning it on? Another suggestion mentioned...the resistor size used, could be a design flaw for US power sources?

I know nothing about electronics, but would love to get a permanent fix someday...

It seems so be all LEDs, no bulbs, and how the LEDs are mounted above and at the sides of the pots isn't very elegant. Broken solder joints could be an issue, as well as the supply voltage being too high (and therefore the resistors too small. Adding a small resistor in series with each LED could be a solution, though that's something you should take it to a tech for.

Does it look like anything in particular? Fender ? Marshall ? Vox ? Or go they all look much the same 'gutswise'?

All I know is I love the way it sounds, so much I now plug my zoom in front of my non-tube amps... usually Bassman emulation but I change it around sometimes.

Fair enough. Maybe the bits in the chassis are enlightening.
Otherwise... it's an Eminar!

Edit: to illuminate- I have read about early Marshall's and (?) Traynors (?) being based on the Fender Bassman template. I like this Eminar warmth so much that if it was from the same gene pool I'll know where to look in future if I'm looking for another amp.
