amp headphones

sorry if it's a repost.
i was planning to buy something better than my crate15wcombos and since space and money are limited i was wondering:
if i buy a head like the fender250or the yamaha since they have inputs for headphones can i use them without a cab?

You could buy an amp that has an effects loop in it and use the effects send to plug headphones into. The pre-amp signal might be enough to power the head phones. This would mean that you need not limit yourslef to amps with dedicated headphone outputs. Now I don't know 100% if this would work but it's worth considering. Mabe some one else could confirm the validity my idea.

no man.i want a amp that can be primarly used with headphones but later on upgraded to used with cabs,you see?that cant be done with that lil jewel can it?thanks anyway dude

Well then take you chance with it.
It's a little wonder.
Much smaller and louder than you'd think.

If the sky's the limit, why arn't you getting a cab? :D
Anyway, seriously, checkout Markbass, I'm sure that guy Pete Murray (I think it was him, the international sales relations guy) could aswer your questions about the headphone part.

And surely most modern amps have the safetyoption that they can be powered up without the cabs attached? With all the american lawsuits I atleast would assume it, but it's worth checking.

cause it's a low cloudy sky i can get or one good head or a good cab but not both.not now.and space is also a issue

Hi there.
The good news is that the Micromark has a headphone jack. But you can't use the Micromark as a head to power a cabinet. It's a standalone unit.
I'm sorry there is no headphone jack in any of our heads.
Any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks! Although I can't personally take any credit for the Micromark. ;)

I'm not an engineer but I'd be surprised if a 50W amp could be adequately powered by battery...
