Amp help needed

KK

I have a chance to buy either a Traynor Bassmaster 400 watt(tube pre/fet drive) OR a Traynor YBA200 watt(all tube) head.

I know which will sound better but....

Which will be louder?
Which will have more "presence"?

Will 200 watts of tube goin into a 210 & a 15 neo cab be enuf to keep up with a couple of Marshall halfs?

Will either of these?

Will be playin mostly small to medium clubs either right off the stage or direct out to the board.

Thanx in advance for any advice.

Thanx B.

410 cabs are just too big to be practical for me.
I like bein able to just take the head and the 210 sometimes.

What I really want to know is, will the 200 tube be enuf not to get lost in the mix usin the 210/115 set up?
Would I be better off with 400 watts of SS?

The 200 watts would probably hold up. The YBA200-2 (I assume you are talking the -2) are hard on output tubes so I would keep that in mind. If you are not talking about the -2 go with the hybrid.
I am more concerned about the speaker choice actually, how about sub'ing a NEO 212 for the 210? 212 + 115 might not be as much of a stretch?

I had zero probs with my YBA200 & I'd think it'd be fine. You might be dealing with some pretty sweet overdrive tho.
You can always swap the V1 tube to a AU7 to get more CLEAN headroom outta the YBA200.
AS with any amp, it's more the cabs that'll be the major factor in volume tho.
I had no volume worries with mine-using a 2x15, or 610- loud 8pce funk band & 3pce with LOUD drummer & loud Fender Twin

Volume is more about speaker area than any thing else.

The doubling of the power will lend itself to more volume, but increasing the speaker area will have a much more dramatic effect on volume.

So tl:dr get the one that sounds better and if you want more volume add more speakers.
