It's the only reason I don't have a V4B head. Someone needs to tell Ampeg to build a 100 watt head in the footprint of the PF50-T.

Amp is to wide for cabinet.....

Doesn't really bother me, just was curious what others thoughts were. I thought about putting it on it's side, but the main reason I was looking at this cab was the height on the top speaker, well that plus a whole bunch of other boxes it checks.
Not dumb at all.

I used to have a '60s Traynor YT-15 (21" wide) cabinet that my 2nd version SUNN Concert Bass amp (24" wide) sat on. I loved the look of that overhang, still do, actually.
This was built near where I live recently. Apparently hanging over is now the latest thing:
well, I'm kinda with the OP on the overhang issue. I think it looks kind of clunky and garage band-ish to have a head that overlaps the cab.
Just my opinion of course.
I have a Fender Studio Bass head that's 26" wide and I ended up having Don at LDS build me a 28" wide 2x15 specifically for that head.
I had a Berg NV610 for a while, which is a pretty wide cab, but the Fender still overhung that cab just a bit. I was eventually also able to find a early 80's Fender 1x15 cab (loaded with a great EV 15L) that is a perfect fit for the Studio Bass head.

I had an amp head taken out of a combo that was too wide for the cab it sat on. Did not care. Sounded great. Not one musician in multiple years ever commented on it, other than they thought it sounded great.

I wouldn’t worry about it. I don’t think it looks bad honestly. Looks like you picked your gear for the sound, not the look.
Definitely, a latest thing kind of thing. The two that I posted were made in the 1910s.
Edge tape is a thin wood veneer that comes in various widths.
It often times comes with an adhesive that is activated by heat; you can use a standard household iron to get it to adhere. Since the board was plywood, the edge was not so pretty.
Maple is the species of wood.
I'm not sure they make birch edge tape but since both species of wood are light in color and have a faint grain pattern, the match was near perfect.
I kept that board after I sold the amp but finally tossed it when I moved otherwise I'd post a picture.
