Amp Kit- Anyone?

Guitar player friend of mine is converting to using AmpKit with his iPad for all gigs. We tried it in a studio a couple of weeks ago and it was impressive. Talk about a light load in! It also has amps for bass. More or less a POD within the iPad.

signal path:

Bass>Apogee input dongle>iPad>DI>PA

anyone tried this with bass ?

I tried it at NAMM with a guitar. I was skeptical, expecting annoying latency, but I didn't notice any. The Ipad was running Revalver. I saw Alex Skolnick doing a demo where this setup was his rig. It's very convincing with a guitar. I'd like to try it out with bass.
