Ok, I was bored all day. So since I was typing alot of this for myself anyways, I thought "why not make a 16 pounds and under list". Well, I was surprised at how many amps actually made this list...

All pounds I converted into KG for our non-US friends. I listed price info where I knew it, and I'll update it if someone can give me some info I don't already have. I posted the official sites where applicable so you can look at the actual size beyond just the weight. If there are some other amps that meet the criteria that you think should be on this list, just reply and I'll edit the original post to include it.

Whatever you want to call them, it is what I am looking for to purchase myself. Maybe some other people are wondering the same thing and would like this list.

Hi there,

Cool list! I don't think I'm allowed to provide prices here... but I can tell you that the F1 is 4.6 lbs., 500W @ 4 ohms.

Why 16?

I actually did 20 and the list was getting so large I decided to cut it off. When I got down to a manageable number, that's where I stopped. I wanted the list to have an exclusiveness to it. If 50% of the bass amps available made the list, then it wouldn't be very much helpful. I am happy about how the list turned out. There are very cheap options for light weight rigs, which coffee house gigs wouldn't need a ton of power. Then you have the lightweight big gig worthy stuff.

I WILL update with the power ratings on each when I get some more time. Until then, there is a direct link to the website, it would take all of 10 seconds to find out.

The Portabass is 20 pounds, so not on the list.

Updating the Markbass F1 info, Updating with the Walkabout. Its ironic I forgot the Walkabout as I've been very interested in that one even though I'm not a big tubey sound loving player.

Can someone post a website URL to Walter Woods for me? I'd like some info but only found links to Talkbass on Google.

The Genz Benz NeoPak is 500 watts at 2 ohms.
