Amp no good? Help....

Hi

In another thread it's been said that I perhaps ought to upgrade my amp. My current rig is an Ashdown ABM Evo II 300 (325 watt) head, with an Ashdown Classic Neo 115h 1x15 + horn (400watt) cab, and an Ashdown Classic Neo 210h 2X10 + horn (550watt) cab.

A couple of questions, is my amp not up to the job (it can get a bit farty when it's cranked up but I assumed that was the speakers as there seems to be a fair bit left in the gain + volume pots)?

If it's not, what is a decent amp to replace it with (the sky isn't the limit when it comes to price so it needs to be around £500 if poss)?

Many thanks.
