Amp Not As Loud as Before

If you are using the low level input in one as you stated then use the same in the other one and you will get a noticable volume bump but either way you will overdrive your peramp sooner. If you are goiung to compare use the low inputs or the high inputs on both amps. That should even things up a little.

Hey everybody! Thanks for the info and whatnot. So, it's just that the Peavey is built louder, then.

I don't know, maybe I'm imagining things, but I thought I noticed a difference in my combo's output around the time I blew the original speaker. The speaker I have in there now is a Eminence Delta 15. I'm pretty sure it's not the best I could do (may even be recommended to have the enclosure ported for this speaker), but when I'm practicing, it sounds great!

The TKO has the Scorpion speaker. I can't really say I know a lot about them, but I thought I've read they are very good speakers.

Yes, the Trace is a little more HiFi sounding. That's what I like and I guess that's why I love this little combo.

I regards to the above quote, I have my bass running into my Boss RC-20XL looper and into the combo. I've always used the passive input on my Trace to help bump up the sound level a bit. When I tried the TKO, I had it in the low gain just for grins and like I said, the TKO really blew my Trace away, even using the passive input on on the Trace.

Yeah, if you need a small combo for playing with a band, the little Peavey is the way to go.

If anyone else has more info, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
JB

You just said it all right there. The amp got less loud when you used a more or less random replacement for the speaker it's designed for. You're pretty lucky you like the results at any volume.

Well, that's kinda what I said. What I should have said was that I had played my combo with the blown speaker (not totally blown, but crackily and junk at higher volumes and low tones) for quite a while until I bought the replacement speaker.

Maybe it's all in my head. I don't know. What I do know is that, at least for volume, I'll be using my buddy's TKO when we get together, but I love the tone I get from my Trace. What I also love about my Trace is that I'll have to be cranking it all the way and playing as hard as I can before I blow this speaker. The original one went at less volume that I've had it up with the Delta in it.

Thanks very much!
