Amp or recording/how

Ok. I play in a band/project with my buddies. We play Metal and there are 2 guitarist and a drummer and me. I was wondering, should I get another amp or help pay for some recording gear?

I currently run thru a 70 watt GK combo. It's ok, but my friend has a flippin valvestate, so I think I need a bit more power. Was thinking either a Peavey Tour 450 or some sort of big Fender combo. Any advice on ampage?

Lastly, we're getting pretty good, and we're all under like 16. I mean, I could help out with the recorder and get an EP out there... Not sure how much that's gonna do. Like, does that get you noticed? And how should we go about playing live? Like call around? By the way, we were thinkin about a Digidesign Minibox. Guy at GC recommended it for people just starting in the biz.

Any help is greatly appreciated. If you have no advice, sorry for wasting your time. :bassist:

Get the amp, get practising, get writing, get gigging and then think about recording.

As for getting gigs; first off talk to anyone else you know in a band and see if you can support them. Talk to you teachers and see if you can play at your school. Look around you local area for music venues, clubs, etc. and talk to them about giving you a shot. Most will want to see a myspace page with some video and recordings. You can do the video on a camcorder at a practice - talent will show on that!

Finally don't give up!
