Amp pairing with Bergantino

Cool! Well I am already lugging a 6x10 so whats another 70 haha! No but is the forte a better sound than the B|Amp or is it that the BAMP is just complicated with all the menus?

From what I understand they sound a little bit different. The Bamp is way more tweak-able, but I personally have zero time for that.

Where the HP shines is when you start turning that puppy up in volume. It starts hitting harder and harder.

If you have multiple basses that have different outputs the Bamp can solve that issue with the presets.

The pros/cons of one vs the other is endless.

What's so killer about the HP is the compressor, HPF, LPF and one knob drive right in front of you. The HPF and LPF are excellent tuning devices to get rid of unwanted boom or clank without touching the eq.

I actually think I really am biased in wanting to try a big boy tube amp. I really (for now, que a classified listing) dont think I would mind one more 70 lb piece. We finally got some college kids to help us set up so I typically have less to carry these days. I do still play some smaller rooms and so I worry that some places I wouldnt get the sound I want out of a big 300 watt tube amp. I know its hard to have a one size fits all. My shuttle has been almost perfect, but I think we have grown apart in recent years. With the new Berg lady around it really pushed things over the edge. Looking to file paperwork after the holidays as to not shake things up to much.

I get being biased to tube amps. I haven’t been a tube amp or really amp guy ever. Whatever works for me. Although after using a tube compressor and now a REDDI tube DI, I have debated going to a tube amp. Not 70 lbs worth as I’m hauling my gear and I don’t need that much power or a 610 cab, but something in the “B15” range and size. Maybe a Portaflex 50t and 115 cab or something like that.

Have you played your current amp & NV610 with a band yet, or just jamming solo?

I've had my NV610 since like 2007, I bought it to replace my old pair of SWR Goliath-II cabs. When I first got my NV610 home I vividly remember being disappointed in It's somewhat lackluster tone while I was just jamming solo. But I soon discovered the true magic of my NV610 was how well it sat in the mix while playing along with my rock bands, not solo jamming.

At that time, my main amp was a Mesa 400+. Over the years since then, I've added a Mesa D-180, Ampeg V4, SVT-II, 72 blueline SVT, Peavey Classic 400 and an Orange TB-500 amps to my collection and I've gigged them all with my NV610.
