Amp problem

My Eden N8 amp is making a loud buzz. I haven't used it for some time, maybe five or six months. What can I do? Does this happen a lot? Is it fixable? I plugged my bass, turned the knobs and all I can hear is that sound. HELP.

Does it do it without anything plugged into the amp?

Yes. I turn it on and the noise starts immediately. It's loud and steady. There are no cracks or anything. Just the noise.

Find a good qualified amp tech, and take it in.

Try it in another room on a different power circuit. If that doesn't help, try the amp at a different house. It can be due to outside interference such as a fridge or air conditioning motor, fluorescent lighting, light dimmer, or line noise. Even a bad transformer out in the street is a possibility. You need to rule out if it is the amp vs the environment.

Just to be sure, check that the nuts are tight on the jacks on your amp. A loose nut could be causing a bad ground.

Two simple things to try first ...

Clean all jacks with DeOxit/contact cleaner
See if the noise occurs when you use headphones

Sounds like ground hum / conflict. Is there a ground lift on that bad boy? Have your removed all other peripherals?
