Amp setup not pushing as much as I'd like it to

This is not how these EQs work, especially not the Orange, which is voiced with a huge mid bump, from which you then cut with the mid knob. If you leave it full on all you get is mid salad. At noon it is pretty much balanced.

This does not match my experience with the fender tone stack.

Straight into the amp sounds similar, just a little less bright.

Then something is amiss.

Try putting your blend at 50% on the sansamp and see if that helps......

Dude 1000 watts into an 810 really isn't doing it for you? How loud (db) a drummer or guitar player are you competing with?
Are the dead spots you're experiencing in particular spots on the neck or just particular notes?
I'd say try another head, then another cab, then another bass if you can so you can isolate the issue but I bet the culprit is in your effects. Scoopy fuzz into scoopy od into a dirty head might be a little too much scoop and dirt for you to come through strongly

Sometimes the problem is something out of left field. Have you checked the batteries in your hearing aids?

Since it is impossible to boost the mids, yeah it kills them. There are too many players that dont understand how that EQ works. Anything other than the mids all the way up, and the bass and treble almost off is a mid scoop. Even with the mids all the way up, and the bass and treble at noon is a significant scoop. Too many players look at the position of the dials, and listen with their eyes.

I totally agree... Especially in a live setting...most players I noticed using Ampeg cabs wernt loud or too muddy... Not because there stuff sucked... But because people don't EQ rite... What sounds good in your room by yourself may not work in a live setting... Boost your mids people,youd be amazed

The Terror is a Fender type stack. In spite of what the knobs are labelled as, mid is cut only. The new SS head they have coming has similar look, but the knobs are more standard SS type cut/boost. The Function of the Fender EQ is especially apparent on the Terror head due to the clean power section, more so that the valve amps with non linearity all over the place making things less clear.

If I was having a similar problem, I would start with the bass. Is it set up properly with the right amount of space between the pickup and the strings? Even play it through another amp, just to see if there are any issues there. Then, set all the controls on the amp to 12 O'clock and the volume at 0, plug the bass in directly and start playing with the amp controls at that point. I would also make sure that active/passive button is set to passive and the ohm switch is set to 4 ohm.

Is the cab an SVT-810E/AV? I was just reading the instructions on that one, and that thing has several input jacks, the one you shouldn't use is the very top one, it's part of the stereo feature of the cab.

Is this a problem that you just recently had, or has this been ongoing since you first starting using that amp and cab combo? Has anything changed? Are you rehearsing in a different place?
